McCulloch 16 inch 35cc Chainsaw

If you are looking for a smaller sized chainsaw that is easy to handle, then this is the chainsaw for you. It is also less expensive than most chainsaws, so if you are looking for something in the lower prices bracket, definitely look at this chainsaw.

All the reviews that I have come across of the McCulloch MCC1635A chainsaw all say that this chainsaw is very easy to handle and operate. Starting is relatively easy and the chain runs smoothly (based on reviews of new chainsaws). One reviwer of the McCulloch 16 inch chainsaw said the shock absorbent handle is a major plus, especially in this price range. This reviewer was worried about the flimsy looking choke mechanism and suspected that it would break in the near future. But overall, when it came to price and operation, the review of the McCulloch 16 inch 35cc chainsaw gave a 8 out of 10.

Another review of the McCulloch chainsaw said essentially the same as above. They found that the light weight chainsaw was easy to use and handles well. They did point out that due to the size, this is an ideal saw for smaller trees and braches. A valid point was made that if you want to cut larger trees or logs for fire wood, it would be best to get a bigger sized chainsaw. The review gave another 8 out of 10.

Husqvarna 455 Rancher

Reviews on the Husqvarna 455 Rancher are in general positive. One of the first reviews I came across mentioned that the user had originally purchased a Poulan and due to problem returned it and then purchased this chainsaw. The husqvarna rancher performed very well for this reviwer and they believe thay will be using it for many years to come.

One issue they had was that after constant heavy duty work for over three quarters of an hour, the chainsaw would cut out if left to idle, but after a couple of minutes it could easily be restarted and power on. Another minor point they raise is the flimsy choke mechanism. But overall, they were very happy with the Husqvarna chainsaw and gave it 8 out of 10.

One reviewer said that the Husqvarana 455 Rancher is capable of being used for relatively heavy duty work. They use it to fell trees that are up to 25 inches thick, and they use it for 2 full days a week. The reviewer of the Husqvarna Rancher said that it does not overheat under heavy workload.

The key they said was to learn how to maintain the chainsaw properly. If you can maintain it properly, it will serve you well. The review of the Husqvarna 455 Rancher sums up by saying that if you need a chainsaw for some serious work then this is the chainsaw for you. They gave the chainsaw 8 out of 10.
